Mia Therese Jamili is a public affairs expert and documentary photographer. She has studied & worked in New York, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, London, and Geneva.
Mia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with advanced multimedia journalism training from the University of California, Berkeley. She completed further professional studies in Photography at the School of Visual Arts NYC and the University of the Arts London, Strategic Communications, Marketing, and Media Management at New York University, and Advanced Project Management at École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris (ESCP) Business School. She additionally received an executive graduate scholarship at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, where she pursued a specialization in Tech, Media, and Communications.
Dedicated to public service, Mia has worked with the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, the United Nations Global Compact, the United Nations Secretariat, the United Nations Development Programme, the American Museum of Natural History, the City of New York, and the City of Los Angeles. She has served as an advocate for the New York Academy of Sciences, the Global Campaign for Education, former UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon’s Education First Initiative, and former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s A World at School Initiative. She has been awarded a Royal Society of Arts Fellowship, a Young Leader in Foreign and Security Policy Fellowship with a Certificate in Media and Arts for Peace from the Geneva Centre for Security Policy, a Certificate in Public Diplomacy from the United Nations Institute for Training and Research, a Mayor’s Excellence Award from the City of New York, and a Certificate of Appreciation from the City of Los Angeles.
